Run Sellrika on your own server: our code is open to read

Your POS holds your sales, your customers and your stock. That is the heart of your business. Some shop owners want to know exactly where that data lives. Some want to see the code that handles their money.

That is why Sellrika is source-available. The full code is on GitHub. You can read it, and you can run it on your own server.

Two ways to use Sellrika

Hosted at sellrika.comOn your own server

Updates and backupsWe do themYou do them
Your dataOn our serversOn your server

Both run the same app. Nothing is hidden in the hosted version.

What you need

  • A server or a computer that can run Docker, or Bun.
  • A database. SQLite works out of the box. You can also use Postgres or MySQL.
  • Some comfort with a terminal.

Try it on your computer

You need Bun. Then:

git clone https://github.com/sellrika/sellrika.git
cd sellrika
cp .env.example .env # set ADMIN_EMAIL, ADMIN_PASSWORD and APP_KEY
bun install
bun run dev # open http://localhost:3000

The first start creates the database, your admin user and a first shop. Sign in with the email and password from your .env file.

Run it in production with Docker

docker build -t sellrika .
docker run -p 3000:3000 \
  -v sellrika-data:/app/data \
  -v sellrika-storage:/app/storage \
  --env-file .env sellrika

The two volumes keep your database and your uploaded pictures safe when you update.

Want each shop on its own domain, with free https? The repository has a docker-compose.yml that runs the app behind Traefik. It gets the certificates for you.

Everything is included

The self-hosted app has the same features as the hosted one: the POS, the online store, stock, reports, coupons, marketing emails, the REST API and the MCP server for AI assistants. Payment providers like Stripe, Omise, 2C2P and PayPal come as built-in extensions. You can write your own extensions in TypeScript too.

What the license allows

Sellrika uses the PolyForm Shield License 1.0.0. In short: use it freely for your business, but do not use it to compete with us. The LICENSE file is the real text. This is only a summary.

You can

  • Run Sellrika for your own business, on your own server, and earn money with your shop.
  • Use it for as many of your own shops as you need.
  • Read and change the code.
  • Write extensions and themes, and sell them.
  • Agencies and freelancers can set it up for a client's own shop and charge for their work. Each client gets their own installation.

You can not

  • Offer Sellrika, or a changed copy, to other businesses as a hosted POS or online store platform.
  • Sell it as your own POS or online store product.
  • Remove the license or the notices.

Not sure if your plan is allowed? Write to support@sellrika.com. We are happy to talk, also about a commercial license.

Help us grow

Pull requests are welcome. And if you like Sellrika, please give the GitHub repository a star. It helps other shop owners find it.

Developer docs, the API reference and the extension guide are at developer.sellrika.com.
